The UNM Department of Dermatology holds several different types of conferences annually. These conferences involve medical students, community providers, and visiting providers.
The Dermatology for Primary Care conference, which involves hands on teaching with primary care providers about dermatology procedures and techniques like suture workshops, biopsy workshops, and dermoscopy.
The Annual Walter Burgdorf Lectureship is a memorial lectureship in which honors Dr. Burgdorf, who was the first chair of UNM Dermatology. This lectureship involves various of dermatological cases presented by medical students and residents who work in conjunction with faculty with traveling keynote speakers.
